Looks so damn comfy. Just put the top down and cruise.
That in/out color scheme is perfect. Only engine available upon launch is the 330hp E400, but undoubtedly it’ll get the 400hp E43 AMG engine too.

I don’t want to be old but I still want one. The 400 is plenty, though I wouldn’t mind the 550 engine...

I sat in an S550 sedan recently, overall that interior just looks and feels unbelievably expensive. Though I must say... the dual screens don’t do it for me. The surround is way too thick. It felt like I was peering over a dual monitor setup... with cheap monitors that have comically wide surrounds. If the screens themselves were the same size but integrated into the dash more intelligently I’d be all for it though.

Yea not to sound old fashioned but a V8 would be a better fit for this kind of car/driving. Noise matters more when the top is down.

I mean I like it a lot more than the C class interior.

Agree - that new E coupe/convertable is one of finest looking modern Benzes. Visually, I still prefer the more teutonic BMW interiors but it’s still d@mn sexy - art on wheels. They are going to sell a bunch of those.

Too bad, this is the German (and by that I mean Polish) convertible you get:

So they could make it truly pillarless in the convertible but NOT in the coupe?!

The E’s dual screen setup is much more elegant, it’s a single piece of glass.

Why is the steering wheel upside down in the lead pic
This is wrong and not good

Just last week I was thinking about how in my dream garage of assorted cars I want a comfy cruiser convertible with an automatic transmission that my wife could drive if she wanted, and I kept thinking about W124 convertibles. Like this would be perfect.
Don’t need no AMG to cruise around town. BUT, some AMG monoblock wheels would look great.

Ha no thanks. I get its probably like half the price, but I don’t want a Sebring convertible version 2.0.

The class is strong here. I feel like a lot of old benzs don’t get the classic status they deserve.

IMHO BMWs are all to German. Then again I’m driving around in a black/grey Mercedes interior from the 90s.
I will say I really like this when it came out.

The whole point of the coupe is being pillarless. They didn’t try hard enough.

I’m not a fan of Mercedes making all their larger engines AMG models. I miss the true E550 and C400

I’ll keep an eye out for it. The closer the auto MFGs get to 2017 screen design, the better. They’ve always been 4-5 years behind. Less obvious now, but way more so when you had an Iphone 1 in hand, but GPS screens still looked like a GTA map

It’s because the green house goes so far back that you wouldn’t be able to lower the rear window all the way. The rear window sits above the middle of the wheel arch, no way to lower a window into that area. If you compare the coupe and cabrio the coupe’s green house goes way further back for the fastback profile.

Lol true, I think the current screen on the C/GLC has wayyyy to much bezel and we need more high resolution screens!

Yeah that same friend said he didn’t like new BMW interiors, so I immediately asked “so how do you like your dash mounted tablet?” He didn’t know what to say lol.

After driving one of those newer C’s for almost a month I’ll be honest and say it’s really not that bad, I actually like how high the screen is because it’s always at perfect eye level.
That said, compared to the rest of the car interiors in this class the C definitely wins, then comes A4 (with digital dashboard) the rest of them are pretty boring except for Alfa. The XE and the 3 Series have pretty basic interiors.
